CENTRALIZED HANDICAPS
Beginning in April (1st) all local handicaps will become centralized on the E-Handicap System. If you belong to any of the following affiliations (ESPECIALLY if you belong to more than one) you are to let your handicapping director know WHICH club you want to be listed under as your "HOME CLUB" for future reference when they enter your scores.
Bahamas Golf Federation, Ocean Club, Palmdale, Poop Deck, Strikers, (we hope to add more as time progresses.)
Note: If you belong to the BGF, you should use that as your "home club" as that is the affiliation that is recognized internationally as being the official record keeper of local handicaps. PLEASE DO THIS BEFORE APRIL 1ST.
As this notice is going out to BGF members, we need you to pass this on to non-BGF or golfers who do not belong to any golf Course or Club.
NOTICE: The sanctioning board of The BGF has decided that there are no reasons for any local golfers not to belong to SOME golf club or course. (In other words an affiliation that can keep your handicap for tournament purposes,) as there are quite a few locally. So effective immediately if you sign up for a BGF event (or one sanctioned by the BGF) you will be scored according to what you shoot that day (if you don't have a verifiable handicap,) with the only exception being if you JUST joined a club or affiliation, and don't have enough cards in. And if you DO belong to a group, it is YOUR responsibility to get your score cards in. We will reserve the right to lower handicaps on anyone seen playing (or being a member for a length of time,) without any (or many) scores turned in.
